Faculty Artist Series Recital: Edward Goodman, saxophone
The beloved melodies of Bizet’s opera, “Carmen,” resurface in Jérôme Laran’s new adaptation that Dr. Goodman brings to Arizona courtesy of his time with Laran in Paris. Moving from melodic to modern, Goodman plays Pierre Boulez’s electro-acoustic tour-de-force “Dialogue de l’ombre double,” which is rarely programed in the United States. Also featured will be Fernande Decruck’s dreamy “Sonata,” and Takashi Yoshimatsu’s electrifying and playful “Cyber Bird Concerto.”
